Kaoru Yamamoto (山本 熏 (ヤマモト カオル)) is the one of the main characters of YAT Untroubled Space Tours, being the director of the Yamamoto Anshin Travel agency and guardian to Katsura Tenjoin.

Tightwad miser, rough, violent, rude extremely greedy, cheap, stingy, and sometimes hypocritical.
Not when during tours, Yamamoto is very compassionatte to his crew whom he treats as family, while still lackeys, with the exception of Katsura. When around her, he shows his loving parent behaviour and overprotective when it comes to his daughter's safety.

- He is modelled after Gouzou Jijii (地々井 剛三)'s design from Nishikawa's Jiji Baba Fight! manga.
- His character design would be later reused as Captain Tamamoto in Nishikawa's Aoiumi no Sashimi manga.
- His overall character concept (greed, flaws and compassion) would later be recognized in the future through characters such as Mr. Krabs from Spongebob Squarepants.
